We had a great time staying at El Monte. Quiet location, starry nights and an easy walk to the center of town. Comfortable and roomy!
WE had a great time in the Casita. It was clean, organized and provided the basics for a relaxed time.
Great Casita with local flavor, gourmet kitchen and very comfortable bed. Nice amenities, and cozy hottub. Very happy, and highly recommend. Radiant Floor heating is wonderful!
I can't imagine a more charming place to stay in Taos than Casita El Monte. It is on a quiet, tree lined street within walking distance to town. The Casita is very beautifully and thoughtfully furnished; everything from the bed to the hot tub for two was perfect. The kitchen is well equipped even to spices on the shelves. We loved sitting in the hot tub at night and looking at the millions of stars not visible where we live. Very special! Very relaxing!
This casita was absolutely beautiful. I do hope to stay in this place again. The kitchen was wonderful to cook in with all the utensils you could need. The bathroom was clean along with the whole house. Just a wonderful property overall. Thank you again for making this a great vacation!
We were thrilled with the accommodations...everything from the Bosch appliances to the 1,000 thread count sheets. Every amenity was offered and all we had to do was unpack and enjoy. Could not have been easier or better and we will be back. Thank you for a wonderful vacation and we will see you for ski season.
We showed up no knowing what to expect, this rental was way above our expectations. The Southwestern them is incredible and the place had everything needed for a luxurious stay. Very close to the square in Taos, and short drve for the Taos Ski valley. Excellent place to saty, will come back for sure.
since the hot tub was out on the back patio facing the driveway, it would be nice to have some sort of privacy screen as cars would drive by the tub.
Close proximity to shops, galleries, restaurants. Salon X is great if you need a haircut...ask for Marie!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at El Monte. The unit represented many of the things that are unique to the southwest - adobe structure, interesting art, beautiful tile, colorful pottery and dishware. The linens are silky and the bed very comfy. Appliances and furnishings are class A. It is located a reasonable walking distance from historic Taos with sidewalks along the way. Also offers easy driving access when needed. The only item that was not top quality was the hot tub which needs a new cover. Overall, it was a romantic, cozy getaway with all the amenities.
Loved the property would definetly come back and stay there. The only down side was the hot tub was very dirty did not use it.
This was tricky to find in the dark as the address is not lit. We really liked our stay but would like to make a few suggestions. Hot tub is really not a plus. It is located under the rain spout and makes the patio too crowded. You might consider adding at least one occasional chair for the living area. We made friends with the vacationers next door and 3-4 cannot sit comfortably in the living area. We appreciated the local literature left for guests.
The pictures do not do this Casita justice! The place is rustic with a modern feel. Everything you need is right there. Great set up! Wonderful location. Walking distance from downtown. Yet you still feel like you are in your own little private mountain village. My family and I loved it!
It never rains in Taos, so the leaky roof shouldn't have mattered. But, believe it or not, it did in fact rain on day of arrival. The roof did leak, but property management had someone on the spot within a couple of hours who made repairs to the roof and cleaned up the mess. It quit raining, so I don't know if the repairs were successful, but I'd say that was very responsive. Suggest you remind the housekeeper to take the wet linens out of the washing machine and at least put them into the dryer before checking out, and ask her not to show up 45 minutes before checkout to clean because frankly, I wasn't ready to vacate at that point, although I did get out right on time at 11 a.m. The little basket in the coffee maker needs to be tossed because it causes overflow. But these are picky little things. I loved the place!
Great Unit and in a great location. I will recommend this unit and give it a 9.8 out of 10.
Only disappointment was a lack of bathtub, I assumed luxury rental meant fully equipped bathroom. Loved the high end appliances and location!
This was a great place, perfect for a romantic getaway. The property was very inviting, and relaxing. It is just out of walking distance to most places, but very close to everything - driving wasn't a problem at all. Overall, we would go back to it in a hearbeat!
Enjoyed our stay. Hope that you let us rent from you again.
This was a very nice, cozy quiet little place within a 15 or 20 minute walk of the Taos Plaza. We would definitely go back.
The property was very nice. However, the sofa sleeper was very uncomfortable. Upgrading to a better sleeper would make the rental unit outstanding! Also, hot tub needed a few repairs.
great location and ammenities as promised. i don't know if the owner is aware that the jacuzzi cover has issues and some styrofoam leaks into the tub. it could have been cleaner.
It was a nice place, but the grill didn't work and the hot tub didn't have the correct chemicals so that we could use it. The manager offered us money if we went to buy the chemicals, but when I'm on vacation I don't want to run errands. I expect the hot tub and the grill to be ready to be used when we get there- as per the listed amenities.Other then that it was a clean nice place to stay. It was located in a great spot- close enough to walk to galleries and just a quick drive to the Ski Valley.
We had problems with the dishwasher, which didn't clean the dishes at all and there was no dish soap or dishclothes. We washed the dishes with handsoap and washclothes from the shower, but wondered how the previous guests coped. The Spa was directly under the downspout of the roof and each afternoon when it rained, it would be covered with gravel from the roof. (The spa made the small porch seem dirty and cramped and I would recommed getting rid of it.) When we called the manager, he offered us a free nights stay in return for cleaning it, which we did. There was no view other than the parking lot, but the neighborhood was nice and quiet, with large shade trees which made for pleasant walking. We brought our small dog and appreciated that. The furniture was nice with cute decorating touches. Overall, I felt it was overpriced.
LOVED it until last day:leak in bdrm corner splashed on husband's face @6:30am.Left 2 messages:no response!Would like some $ back.Thank G. it was our last day- but left a bad feeling-not relaxed 1 you'd want @ end of vacation. Please respond:. Kitchen was great place very pretty-so extra sad this happened.Would have been very pleased w/place if this hadn't happened. Not as clean as Casita Corazon in S.Fe., but appreciated all the amenities.
The property has the potential to be one of the nicest casitas in Taso however, there were some issues. Our hot tub did not work for our entire stay. This was a major factor in choosing this property. When we called the maintenance man on our first night he said he was busy and would drop off a kep so that we could drain the green water and refill it prior to use. We were not able to get it drained so we called back the next day. The local maintenance man was not helpful at all. Did not return calls. The sink in bathroom did not work. We had to fix that ourselves. The key to turn on the gas for the fireplace was missing and the wood was too wet to burn without it. Comforter in master bedroom had "bodily fluid" stain on it. The property looked as though it was not being maintained between stays. The surround sound is a joke (1 speaker works). If I owned this property I would immediately fire the people in Taos responsible for managing it. They are not doing anything to keep this place nice.
